The Hidden Economic War with China: 12 Disturbing Strategies to Bring America to Its Knees

Huey ReportChina, Communist, Culture Wars, President Donald J. Trump

Silence from the politicians.

Silence from the media.

Silence from business.

The fact is – we are at war with China.

It’s a conflict not unlike what we faced with the Soviet Union: an ideologically-driven communist country wants to dominate the world militarily, economically and socially – and impose its “righteous” answers on the world’s problems.

But communism is a poison of lies and deception – and failure.

Socialism doesn’t work.

And yet there are many ways Communist China could bring America to its knees almost overnight:

Here are 12 strategies the CCP is using to infiltrate our society, steal our intellectual property, and compromise our national security:

Strategy #1: By cutting off our pharmaceuticals – the prescription drugs you take.

China doesn’t have to fire a shot. All it needs to do to paralyze America is to withhold our medicine from us.

China is a major supplier of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and key starting materials (KSMs) for drugs – particularly generics, which make up about 90% of U.S. prescriptions.

China is the dominate U.S. supplier for certain critical medications:
• Hydrocortisone – 96%
• Ibuprofen – 90%
• Acetaminophen (Tylenol) – 73%

Over 100 generic drugs, including treatments for diabetes and heart conditions, rely on single-source Chinese APIs.

Strategy #2: By cutting off the rare earth minerals we need.

The U.S. is heavily dependent on China for rare earth elements (REEs), which are critical components in smartphones, electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defense systems such as military jets, missiles, and lasers.

Eighty-five percent of all REEs come from China. That’s why it’s a central part of Trump’s China trade negotiations.

For heavy REEs like dysprosium and terbium, critical for heat-resistant magnets in defense and automotive applications, China controls up to 99.9% of global supply.

Even REEs mined at the U.S.’s Mountain Pass mine, are often sent to China for processing due to limited domestic processing capacity.

A 2024 RAND study estimated that a 90-day supply cutoff from China could halt 78% of U.S. defense contractors’ production lines.

Over 80,000 parts across 1,900 U.S. military systems, including 91% of Navy systems, depend on Chinese-processed minerals like gallium, germanium, and REEs.

A Chinese embargo could cripple U.S. defense and tech sectors within weeks.

Strategy #3: Espionage via Chinese Students and Drone Surveillance

Chinese nationals, including students, have been engaging in espionage activities involving unauthorized drone flights over U.S. military installations. For example:
• A Chinese university student was charged under the Espionage Act for using a drone to capture images of a naval shipyard at Newport News, Virginia in 2024, violating laws that prohibit photographing defense installations.
• Five Chinese nationals were charged with conspiracy and making false statements after using drones to photograph joint U.S.-Taiwan military exercises at Camp Grayling, Michigan in August 2024.

It’s events like these that prompted Secretary of State Marco Rubio to announce recently that the U.S. will “aggressively revoke visas for Chinese students, including those with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in critical fields.”

Strategy #4: Espionage within Academic Institutions

Investigations have revealed that the CCP has systematically infiltrated U.S. universities, coercing Chinese students to share sensitive research and technological information – particularly in areas such as AI and robotics.

A May 2025 investigative report by The Stanford Review claims that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is orchestrating a widespread intelligence-gathering campaign at Stanford University.

The report states specifically:
• that China’s 2017 National Intelligence Law mandates that Chinese citizens assist in state intelligence work, leaving students little choice but to comply.
• that some students have “handlers” who expect regular reports on university activities.
• that students funded by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) are required to pass party loyalty tests and report research details to Chinese consulates.

Strategy #5: Cyber Intrusions into Telecommunications Networks

A Chinese hacker group known as Salt Typhoon has been launching cyberattacks against the U.S. telecommunications industry since 2022.

The attacks went undetected for two years.

At least nine U.S. telecom firms were confirmed to have been compromised by December 2024, including Verizon, AT&T, Lumen Technologies, and T-Mobile, among others.

These cyber-espionage campaigns target call records and communications, gather information on political figures, monitor activities, access the data of government agencies, and potentially interfere with national security operations.

Strategy #6: Infiltrating the Renewable Energy Infrastructure

Power inverters are used throughout the world to connect solar panels and wind turbines to electricity grids.

They are also used in batteries, heat pumps and electric vehicle chargers.

China is the world’s primary manufacturer of power inverters.

U.S. officials have discovered rogue communication devices embedded in Chinese-manufactured solar power inverters.

One energy expert explained that these devices could potentially be used to “physically destroy the grid.”

Evidence of just how real this risk might be surfaced in late 2024, when a number of inverters across multiple countries were reportedly disabled remotely from China.

Cellular radios have also been found in some batteries that U.S. companies have purchased from multiple Chinese suppliers.

These unauthorized components threaten the security of our critical energy infrastructure.

Strategy #7: Stealing Company Trade Secrets

Chinese nationals have been charged with stealing trade secrets from U.S. companies.

For example, a former Google software engineer was charged with trade secret theft for allegedly transferring hundreds of confidential AI-related files over a period of two years to two Chinese startup companies.

Linwei Ding – the trade secret thief – was offered a position as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of one of the startups within weeks of when he began transferring Google’s proprietary files.

Another employee scanned Ding’s access badge at the Google building in the U.S. to make it look like he was there when he was actually in China.

Strategy #8: Unauthorized Biolab Operations

An illegal biolab operated by a Chinese national was discovered in Reedley, California.

The facility contained thousands of vials of biological substances, including some labeled with dangerous pathogens like HIV and Ebola.

The lab’s clandestine operations and connections to China raise serious biosecurity concerns.

Strategy #9: Cyberattacks on Financial Institutions

Chinese hackers have targeted U.S. financial institutions, including a significant breach of the Treasury Department’s Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

In December 2024, the CCP launched a cyberattack against the Office of Foreign Access Control (OFAC) and the Office of the Treasury Secretary.

Attackers accessed sensitive emails and documents, highlighting vulnerabilities in the financial sector’s cybersecurity defenses.

Strategy #10: Unauthorized Access to U.S. Military Bases

There have been over 100 reported incidents of Chinese nationals attempting to access U.S. military bases and other sensitive sites, often under the guise of tourism.

These unauthorized entries raise grave national security concerns, as they are part of much broader and multifaceted espionage efforts by the CCP.

The FBI reported in 2020 that about half of its nearly 5,000 counterintelligence cases involved Communist China.

Kelly Sadler of the Washington Times says, “It has been well documented that China is purchasing American farmland, often near sensitive military sites.”

Strategy #11: Espionage by Military Personnel

U.S. military personnel have been implicated in espionage activities benefiting China.

For instance, former Army intelligence analyst Korbein Schultz was arrested in March 2024 and sentenced to seven years in prison for selling classified documents to a Chinese national over a two-year period.

The leaked information included sensitive details about U.S. military operations and weapon systems.

Strategy #12: Compromising Port Infrastructure

Investigations have uncovered that Chinese-manufactured cargo cranes at U.S. ports contain communication equipment not necessary for their operation.

Cellular modems that can be accessed remotely have been found embedded in the cranes.

These components could potentially be used for espionage or sabotage, posing risks to national security and the integrity of critical infrastructure.

Summary:

These examples underscore the multifaceted strategic approach employed by the CCP to infiltrate various sectors of American society and infrastructure.

Communist China is waging war against America on our own soil.

The persistent nature of these activities highlights the importance of robust counterintelligence measures and international cooperation to safeguard national security.

Breaking News:

President Trump has just agreed to a new trade deal with China. Here are the key provisions of the agreement:
• China will remove its export restrictions to the U.S. on magnets and rare earth elements.
• No ‘quid pro quo’ on high-end microchips for rare earth elements.
• U.S. tariffs on China will be 55%
• China tariffs on the U.S. will be 10%
• Geneva trade talks between the U.S. and China are back on track.
• Chinese students will be permitted to attend U.S. universities.

It remains to be seen whether this agreement will be good for the U.S. in the long run – or whether it will result in playing into the hands of our enemy.
