Title: Senator Tim Scott Throws Hat in Presidential Ring: Says the Country is Strong, But Biden is Weak—America is Still the Land of Opportunity… And He’s the Proof…[Check out the Special Video Bonus at the end of this article]
Editors note: This is part of our continuing series for the presidential candidates for the 2024 election.
Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina is another candidate throwing his hat in the ring for the 2024 GOP presidential race.
His speech highlighted his faith in God and America.
“Today, I think back to my grandfather. A man born in 1921 in Salley, South Carolina, in the Deep South,” said Scott. “My family went from cotton to Congress in his lifetime. And it was possible because my grandfather had stubborn faith. He had faith in God, faith in himself, and faith in what America would be.”
Scott announced his candidacy during a speech at Charleston Southern University in North Charleston, South Carolina, attacking Biden and the Democrats for dividing the country and causing a rift among the races with their “identity politics.”
“Joe Biden and the radical Left are attacking every single rung of the ladder that helped me climb,” Scott said during his speech.
“We live in the land where it is absolutely possible for a kid raised in poverty, in a single-parent household, in a small apartment to one day serve in the People’s House, and maybe even the White House,” Scott continued.
Scott went on to say, “You can call me a prop. You can call me a token.
You can call me the N-word. You can question my blackness. You can even call me Uncle Tom. Just understand that what you call me is no match for the proof of my life. Your words are no match for my evidence.
Your pessimism is no match for the truth of my history. This is the freest and fairest land. Where you and I can go, as high as our character, our grit, and our talent will take us. I bear witness to that. I testify to that. That’s why.
I’m the candidate the far left fears the most.”
Scott affirmed that one of his first priorities as President would be border security, combating cartels, and repelling China’s detrimental impact on our country.
“Our nation, our values, and our people are strong. But our president is weak. America is not a nation in decline. But we have become a nation in retreat under Joe Biden,” Scott said. “The country is retreating away from patriotism and faith.”
Then Scott ended his speech with a prayer:
“May the Lord bless us for another thousand generations. May He be gracious towards us. I believe the next American century starts today!”
Last year, Scott said he’d only get in the race “if he felt God was calling him to do so.”
Explaining how he came to announce, Scott said:
“I’d like to say there was like an audible voice, but I didn’t have one. But there was this impression on my heart that was really about peace. You know John 14:27 talks about the peace I give to you, not like the world gives to you, that I give to you, it was a combination between John 14:27 and 1 Peter 5:7 that you cast all your cares upon the Lord for he cares for you. That combination gave me a peace about stepping forward in my Faith in America tour where I really wanted to hear from the American people about the challenges that we face and the solutions that they’re interested in.”
Then Scott said God revealed something to him:
“About six o’clock, seven o’clock I was thinking about it, was feeling nerves and the butterflies, and finally I heard the Lord speak to my heart and say, ‘This is not about you, don’t confuse it,'” recalled Scott. “‘You’re my vessel for this journey but it’s not about you, it’s about the American people who are starved for hope looking for opportunities and want to protect this nation that they love.'”
Scott may already have one potential voter—Elon Musk.
Elon Musk reposted one of Scott’s campaign ads on Twitter, then tweeted, “Great statement. We are not in decline. We’re in a Biden retreat.”
Even former President Donald Trump had nice things to say about Scott, writing on his Truth Social site:
“Good luck to Senator Tim Scott in entering the Republican Presidential race. It’s rapidly loading up with lots of people, and Tim is a big step up from Ron ‘Desantimonious,’ who is totally unelectable. I got ‘Opportunity Zones’ done with Tim, a big deal that has been highly successful. Good Luck, Tim!”

Special Video Bonus:
A week after his announcement, Sen. Scott appeared on The View and had a heated debate with View co-host Sunny Hostin.
Hostin told Sen. Scott that his success was “the exception to the rule” and started spewing “flawed” statistics to support her left-wing narrative.
Scott wasn’t buying what she was selling and hit her back with actual facts and statistics, making Sunny and the rest of her co-hosts uncomfortable…
It was a must-see moment.
