What? The Next Assault on Liberty: A Governor Suspends the U.S. Constitution Because She Disagrees with it

This is tyranny.

It’s authoritarian.

It’s regulatory statism.

The Bill of Rights has no meaning without the 2nd Amendment. It’s not a suggestion.

It’s not a recommendation.

It’s not a feeling.

It’s absolute.

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights were created to stop tyranny, authoritarianism, and government overreach.

And now New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has issued an emergency order (classified as an emergency public health order) suspending the right to carry firearms in Albuquerque and the surrounding Bernalillo County.

Under the order, State police had the authority to assess civil penalties and a fine of up to $5,000. The local sheriff and Albuquerque’s police chief had refused to enforce the firearms ban.

This is tyranny and statism.

A Governor can’t suspend the Constitution. They may want to, but it will lead to unconstitutional laws and regulations. We have rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

Carrying a firearm is a RIGHT, not a privilege.

Rights are given to us by GOD, not by government.

Therefore, a right cannot be taken away by any politician or bureaucrat.

However, over the years, state and federal politicians have treated gun ownership like a privilege—placing restrictions on our 2nd Amendment rights and placing taxes and other regulations to make it harder and harder to own a gun and protect ourselves and others.

What Gov. Grisham did was violate the Constitution… She did it knowingly and willfully… She instituted a “decree” which violates her oath to uphold and protect the Constitution.

Radical socialist Democrats love to use disasters or emergencies to wrest more power and control from the people—As radical socialist Democrat and former Chief of Staff to Obama Rahm Emanuel said, “Never let a serious crisis go to waste.”

Gov. Grisham is using a series of deadly shootings in Albuquerque to suspend current gun laws allowing open carry of handguns in most public settings within the state, even though she admitted in a press conference that “criminals won’t follow the order.”

The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) said that the Governor’s gun grab was a “tyrannical executive order banning firearm carry.”

The NAGR and others are suing the governor in U.S. District Court in New Mexico, seeking an immediate injunction against the Governor’s order.

Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen said after the order was issued the following statement:

“While I understand and appreciate the urgency, the temporary ban challenges the foundation of our constitution, which I swore an oath to uphold. I am wary of placing my deputies in positions that could lead to civil liability conflicts, as well as the potential risks posed by prohibiting law-abiding citizens from their constitutional right to self-defense.”

Elections have consequences. For New Mexico, it will be sent to court, and the governor will be stopped.

But expect more socialist governors to do unconstitutional actions.

On the federal level they did it to suppress the 1st Amendment, colluding with Big Tech to shut down political opponents and anyone who disagrees with them or their propaganda.

They did it with their unconstitutional mask mandates and COVID lockdowns.

They do it on the southern border, refusing to secure it and do their duty to protect our borders.

On the state level, watch your governor and this election—Let’s elect governors that will obey the Constitution.

Note: As of this date, U.S. District Judge David Urias blocked New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s order suspending the right to carry firearms in public in and around Albuquerque. The ruling cited that the governor’s order directly conflicted with the Second Amendment.

The ruling has paused the gun ban enforcement of the public health order until a preliminary injunction hearing that’s being held in two weeks. And, of course, any negative ruling will be appealed and possibly brought before the Supreme Court.
