Biden is struggling to convince Americans to support his pro-socialist “Build Back Better” Agenda.
To “convince” us that it’s a “great” program, the Biden Administration has released a series of infographics on the White House’s website called the “Life of Linda” to show how President Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better” program would help single mothers and their children… But will it?
It’s an interesting example of how Biden and his team see the average American woman. The infographic presentation tells the story of Linda, a blue-collar working woman who makes $40,000 yearly and is pregnant.
Apparently, she has no husband… the illustrated story does not mention a husband or even the baby’s father in her life… and this makes sense because, in a socialist’s mindset, men are useless and serve no purpose — And the family unit is a dysfunctional relic of the past.
Biden’s socialist vision of America creates a system of dependency on the government. The traditional family unit of a father and mother is wrong.
In Biden’s socialist America, the real reason men are useless and serve no purpose is that the state has now taken the father’s place in the “average” American home… Why would you need a man when Uncle Sam will take care of you and your children?
In Biden’s socialist America, there is no upward mobility… if you are poor or middle-class, you are stuck that way for the rest of your life. In fact, there can’t be any self-improvement in Biden’s America; otherwise, you wouldn’t need him or his policies or big, cradle-to-grave government welfare.
So poor Linda will be part of Biden’s expanded welfare state forever.
Biden’s new “Life of Linda” presentation promotes:
- Free universal preschool (schools are failing now. Can you trust more government schools to do better?)
- “Affordable” childcare and healthcare—an expansion of Obamacare (Obamacare more than doubled the cost of health insurance. Since its inception, it’s increased premiums by over 129% and destroyed private doctor practices and innovation).
- $300 a month (per child) tax credit that can be used for groceries, clothes, etc. (that’s $3,600 per year, but inflation costs Americans over $5,000 a year, so Linda’s is still losing).
- Tax credits for Linda shift into “green energy” (with such high inflation, poor and middle-class families are struggling to put food on the table. They can’t afford to shift to “green Energy appliances, etc).
- Spending billions on affordable housing (affordable government home programs are forcing the price of homes up, not down).
In addition to making very low wages, Linda, a hard-hat-wearing warehouse worker, apparently doesn’t get health insurance from her employer, which is unusual for a blue-collar job—but that’s the narrative that fits Biden’s perception of America…. Perception, not reality.
Reality is far grimmer.
Biden’s vision is for a bigger government that cares for us from cradle to grave.
Given how incompetent and inefficient government-run programs work now, it’s frightening to think that they will have more control over healthcare, schools, preschools, medical care, housing, and energy.
As the great economist Milton Friedman once said, “If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in five years, there’d be a shortage of sand.”
He also said, “There is no such thing as a free lunch.”
And indeed, to fulfill Biden’s agenda in the “Life of Linda” tale, someone will have to be on the hook to pay for all of these expanded government programs– and that will be YOU and ME.
But the government will also have to borrow money to pay for all of this profligate spending as well, and this will drive the cost of everything up even more and create even higher inflation… It’s unsustainable.
As English Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher pointed out, “’The trouble with socialism is that eventually, you run out of other people’s money.”
And with over $32 Trillion in debt, an influx of illegal immigrants pouring into the country waiting to get on the welfare dole, and no sign of any spending cuts, something’s gotta give… we’re on the verge of economic collapse.
Biden’s “Life of Linda” story is not the story of the American Dream. It’s a story of a person that needs to rely on the government for the rest of her life and her children’s.
That’s not the American Dream.
The American dream is to work hard, stand on your own two feet, and make it in life by creating a product or service that benefits everyone. That’s what we want for ourselves and our children.
The American Dream was just that — A dream. Something to look forward to or aspire to.
Biden’s narrative is a depressing nightmare that no one should aspire to.
