Joe Biden’s Justice Department has launched the National Extreme Risk Protection Order Resource Center.
That’s right. A new bureaucracy.
Its purpose…?
To confiscate guns.
Here are 6 things you should know about Biden’s plan to trash your Second Amendment rights and take away our guns…
1) DOJ’s move to confiscate your guns
Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a press release:
“The National Extreme Risk Protection Order Resource Center will provide our partners across the country with valuable resources to keep firearms out of the hands of individuals who pose a threat to themselves or others. The Center’s establishment is the latest example of the Justice Department’s work to use every tool provided by the landmark Bipartisan Safer Communities Act to protect communities from gun violence.”
Given the Biden administration’s two-tiered, weaponized justice system, who would they deem a threat? Pro-lifers? “Christian nationalists”? “MAGA extremists”? All of whom have been labeled by Biden as “domestic terrorists” and “extremists.”
2) Red flag laws
An Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) or Red Flag law is a court-ordered disarming or confiscation of a dangerous individual’s guns. Currently, 21 states and the District of Columbia have Red Flag laws, but other states are considering them.
Supporters and the biased media say these laws and orders are meant to keep guns out of the hands of people who would illegally use them to harm someone else.
3) Truth and Injustice
Who will oversee this new bureaucracy?
The Department of Justice’s ideological anti-gun lawyers and bureaucrats.
Who will judge these Red Law cases… A radical activist judge who is anti-gun or a constitutional constructionist who upholds the Second Amendment?
How are these new laws constructed?
Anyone can complain about a neighbor, family member, or associate. They can have their guns confiscated…
Since some people lie, this can cause a lot of problems if your anti-gun neighbor decides to lie about you and say you were shooting squirrels in your yard when you weren’t so that you get your gun confiscated by the police…
That’s why we have the Fourth Amendment to guarantee due process: our Second Amendment rights must be protected from those who want to trash it.
This new bureaucracy removes your constitutional rights and protections.
4) The Deep State and Radical Socialists support Red Flag Laws
The 2nd Amendment to the Constitution was ratified on December 15, 1791. It protects Americans’ right to possess weapons to protect themselves, their rights, and their property and states:
“A well-regulated militia, being necessary for the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed upon.”
However, Biden and the radical bureaucracy don’t like the 2nd Amendment… in fact, Biden has been anti-gun for years, promising to ban and even confiscate guns from private gun owners who have legal permits.
In 2021, while commenting on the Second Amendment, Biden said, “If you wanted or if you think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.”
President Biden wasn’t the first to threaten war against American citizens. U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell tweeted that “gun owners that would dare consider opposing a tyrannical government attempting to seize their lawfully-owned firearms would face a short war because the government has nukes.”
Biden and the radical left often threaten legal gun owners with new and restricting gun regulations, heavy taxes on ammunition, and burdensome regulations that make it hard to purchase a gun.
However, their ultimate goal is to repeal the 2nd Amendment.
They often employ political tactics to demonize guns, politicizing tragic shootings and manipulating the data and facts on gun violence in America.
For example, VP Kamala Harris recently visited Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the site of the 2018 massacre of 17 people, to push for Red Flag laws.
In her speech, Harris challenged the 29 states without Red Flag laws, saying, “We got some resources for you to help you implement the work that you have done, which has been the work of a leader on this tragic issue.” She also spouted out the same misleading statistics about school shootings, saying, “The leading cause of death for the children of America is gun violence.”
That’s not even close to the truth.
When they use “children death by gun” statistics (which is less than 1% of murders nationwide), they include suicides, gang and drug-associated gun murders of kids, and they focus primarily on kids between the ages of 16 and 21.
By adding those groups to the data, then you can falsely claim that “The leading cause of death for the children of America is gun violence.” Those for gun control are experts at fudging the data and statistics to foment fear and division.
Here are some unaltered statistics about gun violence:
- Rifles and shotguns combined are used in less than 3% of all homicides, but pro-socialists never let facts get in the way of their political agenda.
- As for actual mass murders, according to the FBI’s data on “active shooter incidents” – defined as “one or more individuals actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a populated area” — in 2022, the FBI reported 50 incidents resulting in 313 casualties (100 killed and 213 wounded). That number was up significantly from 2020, when the FBI reported 40 incidents resulting in 164 casualties (38 killed and 126 wounded).
5) Congress, not the DOJ
Congress never authorized the U.S. Department of Justice to create the National Extreme Risk Protection Order Resource Center.
“The administration confuses ‘grants … to implement state … mental health courts, drug courts, veterans’ courts, and extreme risk protection order programs’ with creating an entirely new center for one of these areas,” said Representative Thomas Massie.
Representative Thomas Massie and renowned gun researcher John Lott wrote:
“Andrew Pollack, who lost his daughter in the 2017 Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, recently had an Extreme Risk Protection Order used against him by a neighbor in rural Oregon. When Pollack finally had his hearing in court, the judge didn’t even need to hear a defense because there was no evidence that Pollack had threatened anyone. Unfortunately, while disarmed, he faced a mountain lion outside his home. His dog tangled with the mountain lion, requiring 50 stitches on his side. As is virtually always the case, there was no punishment for the neighbors bringing the false claim [emphasis added].”
6) A Biden dictatorship?
The first thing dictators do is ban and outlaw guns.
Stalin did it…
Castro did it…
Hitler did it…
Hitler authorized the registration of all firearms and then eventually called for their confiscation for “public safety.” The Nazis used gun registration to identify, disarm, and attack their political opponents and Jews. The rights of the people were suspended, and mass searches for and seizures of guns ensued. The Special Police revoked the gun licenses of those who were not “politically reliable.”
This has happened under every dictatorship.
Now Biden is going to do it as well.
The primary obstacle to tyranny and control is an armed population. That’s why the Democrats and radical socialists in the local, state, and federal governments want to take our guns from us.
It’s about control, which is central to their view of government and distrust of individual freedom.
