On every college campus, there are posters of Che Guevara.
Tee shirts with Che are super popular.
When I was in Cuba, the government practically made him a god.
Ernesto “Che” Guevara is taught by professors as some kind of dashing Latin American freedom fighter.
But this is pure fiction.
Che fever is at an all-time high, with October being the 50th anniversary of his death.
It’s time for progressive school teachers to quit revising history to paint him as a wonderful revolutionary, with no historical facts to back up their claims.
The real Che Guevara was an Argentinian doctor-turned-Marxist revolutionary killer who was a mass murderer.
He literally was a psychotic tyrant who reveled in torture and bloodshed, slaughtering political opponents and anyone who disagreed with him.
And yet progressives and teachers continue to fawn over him, turning him into a pop icon in the process.
They see him as a revolutionary, fighting to free the poor from oppression.
Che was no benevolent crusader:
- He was a brutal enforcer for Fidel Castro, who sent thousands of Cuban men, women and children to their death by firing squad.
- He was called “The Butcher of La Cabana,” when he was in charge of the infamous Havana prison.
- Clinically, he is a sadist, according to Humberto Fontova, author of “Exposing the Real Che Guevara.”
Let’s take a look at exactly who the Left is idolizing with a few historical facts on Mr. Guevara:
- He was a blood-thirsty sadist and mass-murderer, and had no problem hiding it. He said:
“A revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate.”
In Cuba, he was the boss of La Cabana prison in Havana. In the aftermath of Castro’s Communist victory, he lined up thousands of Cuban peasants – men, women and children – for his firing squads.
He forced men and women into slave labor camps. Combined with the number of people he personally killed, around 14,000 died at Che’s hands.
- He was an embittered, virulent atheist. His one religious? Soviet-style Communism, or Marxism with a gun.
He held a deep disdain of religion in general. He said:
“In fact, if Christ himself stood in my way, I, like Nietzsche, would not hesitate to squish him like a worm.”
- Che was an unapologetic racist. Here are some of his most offensive remarks:
“We’re going to do for blacks exactly what blacks did for the revolution. By which I mean: nothing.”
In his diary, he referred to blacks as “lazy.”
“The black is indolent and a dreamer; spending his meager wage on frivolity or drink; the European has a tradition of work and saving, which has pursued him as far as this corner of America and drives him to advance himself, even independently of his own individual aspirations.”
While Che helped topple Cuba’s corrupt Bautista regime, Fidel Castro relied on this violent Communist enforcer to impose a more corrupt, violent, and repressive regime on the Cuban people.
Guevara had earned acclaim for his military tactics in Castro’s victory in Cuba, and he wrote a manual, “Guerrilla Warfare,” that is still used as a guide by insurgents around the world.
This is a man who said if he had nuclear weapons he would use them against America.
It’s time to see Ernesto “Che” Guevara for who he really is – a psychopathic killer.

Thanks, from a Cuban-American. Che and the Castros are tyrannical monsters not romantic visionaries. Ed
