A book in the Jack Anderson Elementary School library, in Sumner County schools, has caused quite an upset among parents in the district for its blatant racism and divisive propaganda.
It’s similar to what’s happening across Tennessee, including Williamson County, Davidson County, and Rutherford County.
The book’s theme, in the Sumner County schools, was how people hate each other because of the color of their skin.
The picture book, “A Place Inside of Me: A Poem to Heal the Heart”, by Zetta Elliott is supposed to be geared for kids 4 to 8. The book jacket description reads: “Written in verse, it explores the emotions of a young Black boy after a girl in his community is killed by police.”
The book’s imagery depicts a black girl who is murdered by black-booted, NAZI-looking police officers, who are racist. Black Lives Matters (BLM) “branding” is all over the book.
This is what the school board deems appropriate for 4-8-year-olds.
The book also has an illustration of police with clubs threatening people black people protesting. Another page depicts a funeral with BLM signs in the background.
Tracy Parker the school Librarian said, “This book aspires to help children process all the feelings that we all process both joyful and disturbing — It ends with encouragement to stay positive and love those around you. As a librarian, it’s our responsibility to have diverse books in our collections.”
Parents argued that that was the responsibility of the parents and that children this young are not ready for such discussions… They should be reading about zoo animals or dinosaurs.
Here are 3 things you should know…
#1: Tennessee school indoctrination
The school board ignored the parents in favor of indoctrinating our children.
Sadly, this type of Tennessee school indoctrination is repeated throughout Tennessee. And the local school administration and board members are ok with it… And the County Commissioners finance it.
Whether it’s radical gender theory, pornography, or socialism, it’s not age appropriate.
#2: Taking Back Our Schools
It’s clear that the school board does not care about the parents or the children. All they care about is following their twisted narratives of racial division and propaganda.
The only way to stop this is to vote these people off the school board. And we can do this Tuesday during the midterm elections.
We need to elect candidates that will give parents school choice and allow vouchers to send our kids to private schools. It’s only through competition that we can change things and make a positive impact in our public schools.
#3: Get out and Vote in local elections
Most people vote in the big presidential elections but ignore the smaller local elections. This is a mistake.
Presidential elections are important, but local officials and their bad decisions hurt our communities, our families, our children, and our way of life just as much, or more than the president, congress, or Senate.
