‘Ban the Bible’ Bill: Latest Update [Petition]

Craig Huey AB 2943 2 Comments

State legislatures across the nation have been waiting to see if California would pass AB2943 … and if Governor Jerry Brown would sign it into law…

They’re now going to have to wait a little longer…

AB2943 has been nicknamed the ‘Ban the Bible’ bill because it bans the sale of counseling, books, and seminars that advocate changing same-sex attraction or gender confusion.

This bill threatens to punish any Christian, pastor, author or professional counselor for any financial transaction involving “sexual orientation change efforts.”

This could include a fine or an expensive lawsuit for any Christian college offering a class or seminar in Biblical sexuality, or for any Christian offering counseling in sexual orientation or gender identification.

Even the sale of Bibles could be attacked as a violation of AB2943.

It was expected that the California State Senate would vote on the bill before the end of June.

Instead, the entire state legislature left early for the July 4th holiday and their summer break.

Now, AB2943 won’t come up for a floor vote in the Senate until the legislature reconvenes in September.

The suspense continues…
