For the past 18 years, over 2,500 local newspapers have gone out of business in this country, with more to follow as more and more audiences move to alternative online sources.
Broadcast, including news viewership, comprised just 20% of all TV viewership today…
Cable, including news viewership, comprised just 29.6%.
The rest have gone to Facebook, Apple News, podcasts, and alternative news outlets.
In order to boost the decline of the local news organizations, a coalition of 22 radical socialist groups called Press Forward is giving over $500 million to fund local media publications to “reverse the downward trajectory of local news outlets and close longstanding inequities in journalism coverage and practice.”
According to their website, the group will “provide grants to support local newsrooms, provide resources to diverse publications, and assist in developing collaborative tools such as legal support and membership programs.”
One of the groups in the coalition is the radical left-wing McArthur Foundation, which has contributed to left-wing organizations such as Planned Parenthood, Tides Foundation, and Environmental Defense Fund.
The entire purpose of this unusual move is not to save local newspapers.
Its purpose is to monopolize local news with a radical ideological agenda.
Its purpose is to influence local politicians, city councils, school boards, and county governments to increase their power, enlarge their tax funding of programs, and crush Conservatives, Republicans, and Christian grassroots opposition.
Its purpose is to help organize and mobilize radical groups on the local level to influence local elections.
It’s time to reform and stop the large non-profit foundations that are set on destroying our freedom and transforming our culture and government.
What can you do?
First, be involved at the local level. The opposition is, and they are taking over local governments.
Second, help a great candidate running for local office. Consider running yourself.
Third, vote in the upcoming election—Be courageous and part of the solution.
Fourth, pray for our country.
Note: Another way to help stop the radical takeover of our country is to help us with the voter guide and voter education.
