It was a gathering that ignited flames.
Because something historic happened at the Museum of the Bible.
The first-ever Presidential Commission on Religious Liberty met under the guidance of the Department of Justice (DOJ)—and set the left ablaze.
Christians cheered. Liberals slammed it. You need to know why.
- A First-of-its-Kind Summit
The “Faith Commission” launched its first meeting at the Museum of the Bible.
Created by President Trump’s May executive order, the DOJ-led panel’s mission is clear: document violations of faith and propose legal fixes.
It will report findings directly to President Trump and hold public hearings across America.
- Heavy-Hitter Lineup & Real Stories
The Commission featured powerful voices including:
- Dr. Ben Carson, vice chair:
“Imagine trying to live in a society with no moral code… We will strive to maintain our nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” - Dr. Phil McGraw (Dr. Phil):
“That liberty to freely practice a religion… is the glue that can hold the family together. We are in a cultural war… we fight for the soul and sanity of these United States…” - Paula White‑Cain, Faith Office director:
Warned about “de-banking,” arson/vandalism against churches, employees fired for being Christian.
She reminded us:
“Who would have ever thought… President Trump would have to pardon 23 pro‑lifers… for standing outside… praying silently.” - Attorney General Pam Bondi:
“Our Founding Fathers understood that every individual must be free to worship without fear, without coercion and without government interference.”
She also vowed to “protect every religion in this country,”
During the Senate hearing to eradicate anti-Christian bias, she emphasized the DOJ will “use every legal and constitutional tool… so Americans can live out their faith freely without fear.”
- The left goes into overdrive.
Criticism was swift and loud.
Americans United for Separation of Church and State blasted the meeting as promoting “Christian nationalism,” questioning the choice of venue.
Other critics seized on the DOJ’s role:
- Flux Community (covering secular reaction) said Bondi opened with “baseless claims” of Christians under attack, calling it “weaponization of the DOJ.”
- AP News, NPR, and secular voices expressed concern. They warned the Commission “blurs the lines between church and state,” privileging Christianity and possibly “marginalizing religious minorities.”
- The Washington Post noted critics fear the initiative gives one faith a political priority.
- What’s Next? A Roadmap for Action
More hearings are planned—open to the public—with testimony across the country.
By July 4, 2026, the Commission is set to deliver a final report to President Trump, complete with legal and policy recommendations.
