Be careful what you watch on YouTube…
The Government may be watching you…
According to a recent article by Forbes, FBI investigators have ordered Google to provide information on all viewers of several YouTube videos.
In one warrant, undercover FBI agents sought to identify who was behind the username “elonmuskwhm.” The user is suspected of selling Bitcoin for cash and potentially laundering money concerning unlicensed money transmission.
In another warrant, “undercover agents sent links to YouTube tutorials for mapping via drones and augmented reality software, then asked Google for information on who had viewed the videos, which collectively have been watched over 30,000 times.”
Forbes reported that there were “warrants showing that the FBI had demanded user data on everyone who watched particular videos. We’re talking about tens of thousands of viewers in some cases.”
A Google spokesperson responded, saying:
“We have rigorous policies intended to protect the privacy and constitutional rights of our users while supporting the important work of law enforcement.”
So far, undercover agents have asked for cyber/crypto money laundering links and links to YouTube tutorials that show how to do mapping via drones using augmented AI software, then asked Google for information on who had viewed the videos, which collectively have been watched over 30,000 times.
But no one knows what other videos or data the FBI was interested in.
Remember, they are watching what you are watching.
