Across America, Christian foster parents face anti-Christian bigotry from the government.
At first it was State and Federal.
Now under Trump, it’s at the State level.
Take California…
In past editions of The Huey Alert, I’ve shared how radical Governor Gavin Newsom’s biased policies in California target people of faith.
Now, a new law goes even further—threatening Christian foster families who hold traditional biblical beliefs on gender and sexuality.
And in other states, they are starting to follow California’s path.
Here’s how this shocking development undermines parental rights and religious freedom in California.
California now mandates that foster parents must affirm a child’s chosen gender identity or sexual orientation—regardless of the parent’s deeply held biblical beliefs.
Under this law, foster families are now required to:
- Affirm and honor a child’s chosen gender identity, regardless of their own values.
- Align their home environment with the state’s progressive ideology on sexuality and gender.
- Forfeit their foster care status if they object on religious or moral grounds.
For families with traditional Christian views, this means exclusion from California’s foster care system. Families who refuse to compromise their biblical convictions and violate their conscience will see their applications denied—or their existing licenses revoked.
Even worse, this legislation sets a dangerous precedent: any parent who holds views contrary to California’s radical gender ideology could now be deemed “unfit.”
This means Child Protective Services could investigate Christian parents for raising their own biological children following biblical teaching.
California now asserts its ideology over the role of families in shaping children’s values, threatening the heart of religious freedom and parental rights.
This law is unconstitutional.
Kelly Rickert, an attorney with Advocates for Faith and Freedom, explains the devastating consequences:
“For centuries, Christians have stepped up to care for these children. But now, the State is stripping Christians who have previously provided years of care of their foster care licenses because they cannot in good conscience agree to promote the state’s onerous directives promoting LGBTQ+ ideologies. California’s law is unconstitutional and violates the First Amendment’s Free Exercise Clause. The State of California is putting political ideology over the welfare of these foster children.”
The law doesn’t just penalize parents of faith; it jeopardizes foster children—many of whom benefit from the stable, loving homes Christian families provide. By pushing out dedicated families, the state effectively places children into a more limited system where ideology matters more than their well-being.
The attack on Christian foster families attacks parental rights and religious freedom.
Now that California has silenced faith-based families, it’s a sure bet that other radical states will follow.
This law isn’t just an attack on Christians—it’s a direct assault on the foundational principles of free speech, religious freedom, and parental rights.
