The income tax and the massive bureaucracy have harmed economic growth.
Over the last thirty years, I’ve advocated for alternatives to the income tax—that’s what President Trump proposed.
For 137 years, the United States had no federal income tax.
Today, the average American will work 108 of 365 days a year just to pay their varied taxes.
Although the nation briefly had an income tax in 1862, introduced by President Lincoln to fund Civil War expenses, it was repealed in 1872 once the war expenses were paid off.
An attempt to reintroduce an income tax in 1894 was struck down by the Supreme Court in 1895.
The federal income tax wasn’t constitutional until the ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment in 1913.
There are many alternatives to the income tax, including the “Flat Tax.” Trump suggested that one way to do this was by increasing tariffs.
Trump will use tariffs to increase tax revenue… but also as a negotiation hammer for fair trade.
Trump’s vision represents a significant shift from the status quo to increasing tax receipts through economic growth.
Tariffs may not be the way to go, but Trump’s intention is to stop the IRS insanity.
His plan would reduce the size of the IRS bureaucracy to simplify your paring your taxes.
His plan would put money back in our pockets to save, spend, or invest.
And create a level of economic growth and prosperity, ushering America into the 21st-century equivalent of the Industrial Revolution.
