Vice President JD Vance is the early favorite for 2028 for GOP president.
Senator Marco Rubio is gaining favor.
In the latest Emerson College poll, Vance led with 52%.
Rubio had 20% – up from 9% in the firm’s August poll.

Meta has at least four super PACs funded with about $65 million.

- California: On the Ballot Voter ID
The California Voter ID initiative has gained the required number of signatures to be placed on the 2026 statewide November election ballot.
- Why the Supreme Court Opened Redistricting Before the Election
Supreme Court Justices Alito, Gorsuch and Thomas explained that they opened the door to 2026 redistricting of congressional districts before the election because they were required to act. Otherwise the “2026 congressional elections in Louisiana [will] be held under a map that has been held to be unconstitutional.”
