It’s been going on for decades.
It’s the perfect scam.
You get millions of tax dollars.
It’s other people’s money, not your money.
You get to spend their money however you want to.
You can even give it to your friends to spend on their pet projects.
And there is no accountability.
Why?
Because you work for the U.S. government.
Here are 5 things you should know about federal government agencies that the far-left social media, anti-Trump media won’t tell you:
- Since 1961, the primary distributor of U.S. foreign aid has been USAID.
USAID is the U.S. Agency for International Development.
As of March, 2024, USAID employed 4,675 people.
In fiscal 2023 – the most recent year of complete data – USAID distributed nearly $43.8 billion to 177 individual countries and 29 regions.
The State Department distributed $21.3 billion in the same year.
Smaller amounts of foreign aid were distributed by:
- S. Treasury Department
- Department of Health and Human Services
- Millennium Challenge Corporation
- 16 other bureaucratic agencies
Some taxpayer dollars allocated for foreign aid are given directly to foreign government agencies.
Other foreign aid tax dollars are given to private organizations and NGOs through grants and contracts.
- Billions in foreign aid funds are distributed to NGOs with little to zero oversight.
There are approximately 1.5 million NGOs – non-governmental organizations – operating in the U.S.[1]
Between 15,000 and 20,000 new NGOs are formed and register with the IRS each year.
Many NGOs are financed by private donations and by grants from non-profit foundations.
However, many NGOs are formed for the sole purpose of obtaining grants from USAID, from the State Department, from the Department of Health and Human Services, and from other government agencies.
It is these “fly-by-night” NGOs – and the billions of taxpayer dollars they received for nefarious humanitarian projects – that caught the eyes of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
- Your tax dollars have paid for some bizarre “humanitarian” projects approved by non-elected bureaucrats.
Here are just a few of the Department of Health and Human Services grants your tax dollars paid for last year:
- $1.5 million to the Center to Advance Reproductive Justice and Behavioral Health among Black pregnant/postpartum women (CORAL).
- $814 thousand for “A daily diary examination of the influence of intersectional stigma on blood pressure.”
- $830 thousand for “Still Climbin’: A Randomized Controlled Trial of an Intervention to Improve Coping with Discrimination, Address Medical Mistrust, and Reduce Health Disparities among Black Sexual Minority Men”
And here are just 3 of the grants of your tax dollars that were awarded by the National Science Foundation last year:
- $2.8 million to the NGO Coeur d’Alene Tribe for a study, “Addressing historic and systemic racial inequities: Coeur d’Alene land-based STEM education.”
- $786 thousand for “Transforming Science Teaching and Learning through Empowering Teachers and Students as Climate Justice Action Researchers and Change Agents.”
- $697 thousand for “Black and Latinx Leading Reform and Advancing Racial Justice in Elementary Mathematics.”
A few of the choice USAID humanitarian projects:
- $1.5 million to advance DEI initiatives in Serbia workplaces
- $70,000 for the production of a DEI musical in Ireland
- $47,000 for a transgender opera in Columbia
- $32,000 for a transgender comic book in Peru[2]

- The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has eliminated $190 Billion in government waste so far.
DOGE has saved taxpayers $190 billion as of June 29th, 2025.
This translates to $1180.12 per taxpayer.
Most of these savings have come from canceling contracts and continuing grants that have been automatically renewed every year.
Here are just a few of the contracts DOGE has canceled:
- $2.9 billion for the Department of Interior for a refugee resettlement program
- $1.9 billion tech program at the U.S. Treasury
- $1.7 billion grant program at USAID[3]
Go to doge.gov/savings for the latest data.
- USAID has now been moved under the U.S. State Department.
On July 1, 2025, USAID ceased to function as a separate government agency.[4]
It now operates as part of the Department of State under the leadership of Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
It has been renamed America First.
Hopefully under the State Department, humanitarian aid will be more accountable, more efficient, and more focused on improving health and economic conditions in poor countries instead of spreading divisive social ideologies.
But there are still career bureaucrats throughout most federal government agencies who are committed to using taxpayer dollars to advance far-left social agendas throughout the world.
The House Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency recently held a hearing on the work of DOGE.
Chairwoman of the committee, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), said Congress needs to “lock in” the DOGE savings and also “lock in” the processes that produced the savings.
She said, “DOGE has attracted enemies because it’s taken on Washington’s culture of spending. We should make that a permanent battle. We should institutionalize the battle against waste, fraud, and abuse in government.”[5]
The battle to stop waste and fraud… and stop your tax money used for political and ideological purposes is being opposed by entrenched bureaucrats.
DOGE is in a classic battle against a fake bureaucracy army fighting with everything it can.
But $190 billion is a great start.
