Mainstream Media Bias on Steroids: Rooting Against the U.S. in the War with Iran – 4 Media Myths and 4 Facts Every American Needs to Know About

Huey ReportFake News, Israel, Mainstream Media, Political Extremism, President Donald J. Trump, The Deep State

Key Takeaways:

  • Mainstream media outlets –  k.a. the Legacy Media  –  are biased and not objective.
  • They present biased opinions as facts and focus on anti-Trump narratives.
  • The U.S. attacks on Iran were the deliberate decision of President Trump — not the result of pressure from the Israeli government.
  • Contrary to the opinions of Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, Megyn Kelly and other popular political podcast commentators, Israel does not influence or control U.S. foreign policy.
  • Israel seeks only to live securely and peacefully in its ancient homeland; it does not seek global domination.
  • The mainstream media is not telling the full story of the Iran war; it ignores strategic successes and paints a skewed and negative picture of the conflict.
  • The goal of mainstream media news coverage is to shape public perception so you will think what they want you to think.
  • We have a responsibility to discern between opinions and objective facts, and to not believe everything we read and hear without corroborating hard evidence.

Network news is not news.

It’s not objective.

It’s opinion.

It’s biased to the core.

The establishment media – a.k.a. the Legacy Media – doesn’t ask you to think.

It tells you what to think…

About the United States of America.

About the MAGA Movement.

About “America First” foreign policy.

About Donald Trump.

And about the Iran War.

Here are 4 media myths and 4 indisputable facts about the Iran war that you should know about:

Myth #1: Israel “dragged” President Trump into war with Iran.

According to the New York Times, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was “determined to keep the American president on the path to war” despite ongoing U.S. negotiations with Iran.

President Trump’s “decision to strike Iran was a victory for Mr. Netanyahu, who had been pushing Mr. Trump for months to hit what he argued was a weakened regime.” [1]

Tucker Carlson – who states his opinions as facts – declared, “The United States didn’t make the decision here. Benjamin Netanyahu did.” [2]

SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly said of the U.S. attack on Iran that it’s “very clear this was a Netanyahu-inspired action. He talked our president into it.”[3]

Influential white nationalist and Israel-hater Nick Fuentes declared in a video, “Israel dragged us into this war. Not a conspiracy theory. It’s not speculation. It’s not even a theory. It is a fact.”[4]

Finally, Joe Kent – Director of President Trump’s National Counterterrorism Center – resigned, claiming that “Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.”[5]

Fact #1: The Iran war is Donald Trump’s war, not Israel’s war.

The U.S. is fighting for the interests of the United States, not the interests of Israel.

The U.S. is fighting with Israel – not for Israel.

Fox News host Sean Hannity said, “Nobody drags Donald Trump into anything.”[6]

Dan Bongino – former FBI Deputy Director – said on his podcast, “Are you suggesting that Donald Trump is so weak of a human being and a president that Donald Trump’s getting dogwalked around by a foreign government, making him do what he doesn’t want to do?” [7]

The New York Times has implied that “ongoing” negotiations with Iran made the U.S. attack unnecessary.

Not according to Steve Witkoff – special envoy for the Middle East and a key U.S. negotiator with Iran.

In a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity, Witkoff reported that Iranian negotiators told him and Jared Kushner that Iran controlled approximately 460 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%.

Witkoff further noted:

  • The Iranian negotiators were aware that their stockpile of uranium could be enhanced to weapons-grade levels of 90% within a week to 10 days.
  • They believed their stockpile was sufficient for 11 nuclear bombs.
  • They stated this as part of their negotiating stance.

The U.S. negotiating position was that Iran would have zero enrichment, and that their enriched uranium stockpiles would be transferred out of Iran.

Obviously, negotiations on a “nuclear deal” were going nowhere.

In light of these facts, the assertion by Joe Kent that Israel posed no imminent threat to the U.S. shows a complete misunderstanding of the Iranian regime.

Iran has posed a threat to the U.S. for 47 years:

  • Iran captured our embassy in Tehran in 1979 and held 52 American diplomats hostage for 444 days.
  • “Death to America” is not just a slogan used to gain media attention – it’s Iran’s government policy and long-term goal which they act on every day.
  • Iran sponsors and funds many terrorist groups – Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Muslim Brotherhood and others – that have killed hundreds of Americans.
  • Iran was behind the Hezbollah bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon in 1983 – in which 241 U.S. military servicemen and women were killed.
  • Iran was behind the Hezbollah bombing of the U.S. Air Force Khobar Towers housing complex in Saudi Arabia in 1996, which killed 19 American soldiers.
  • Iran was found complicit with Sudan in the Al-Qaeda bombing of the USS Cole in 2000, which killed 17 sailors.[8]

The White House recently published a list that includes other attacks by Iran that have killed Americans.[9]

With their current stockpile of near-weapons-grade uranium, Iran poses a more imminent threat to the U.S. than ever before.

Myth #2: Israel controls our foreign policy.

Alex Jones of Infowars claims that “Israel is holding us hostage” and that the Israelis are “controlling our foreign policy.” [10]

Nick Fuentes also claims that “Israel is the boss; Israel controls our country…[11]

Tucker Carlson argues that Israel wields undue power and influence over U.S. foreign policy.

He believes that the U.S. government acts in a “subservient”” manner toward Israel rather than acting in its own national interest.[12]

Fact #2: Donald Trump and his administration control our foreign policy.

U.S. foreign policy is not created entirely by President Trump, even though he is responsible for it.

The U.S. foreign policy team consists of15 Cabinet-level departments   ̶  primarily the State Department, the Department of War, and the Treasury Department.

A National Security Council (NSC) consisting of a Director and roughly 400 staff is also a part of the foreign policy team.[13]

Rob Schmitt of Newsmax criticized Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly for claiming that “Israel controls everything, including our president.” [14]

“Nobody controls this man,” Schmitt said.

“No thinking person believes that [Secretary of State Marco] Rubio indicated that Israel forced the United States into a war. We already had an entire armada poised right outside of Iran.” [15]

President Trump listens to all the input he’s been offered, reads all the reports he’s been given, considers both short-term and long-term consequences…

And then makes his own decisions.

It’s also unreasonable to assume that Israel directed the U.S. to:

  • Agree to a two-week cease-fire with Iran
  • Conduct peace negotiations with Iran
  • Remove the mines from the Strait of Hormuz
  • Blockade the Strait of Hormuz

President Trump is several steps ahead of Israel in his strategic foreign policy planning.

He is acting on behalf of the U.S. and the world – not just on behalf of Israel.

Myth #3: Israel wants world domination.

A wide range of extremists, white supremacists, and some fringe political figures and groups believe that Israel or a “Zionist lobby”  seeks global control.[16]

Alex Jones complains that “Truly the stereotype of Israel wanting global domination and trying to control the U.S. is now a reality.” [17]

Another common conspiracy theory is that Israel was behind the 9/11 terror attacks.[18]

Fact #3: Israel simply wants the right to exist in peace and security without being constantly attacked and threatened with annihilation.

The facts of Israel’s history are often ignored or distorted.

Israel wants to have the right and the freedom to live in their ancient homeland under their own self-ruling government — that is all.

Since Israel became a nation in 1948, it has made numerous attempts to exchange land for peace with the Palestinian Arabs.

All of Israel’s offers have been rejected.

Offering to give up conquered land for peace is not something a country seeking world domination does.

Israel is accused of committing genocide in Gaza.

Knowing that Hamas uses civilians as human shields, Israel drops leaflets on every bombing target days before an attack, warning civilians and urging them to flee to safety.

A country seeking world domination doesn’t do such things.

Nearly one-fourth of the population of Israel today is Palestinian Arab.

Israel does not seek domination over non-Israelis.

The Palestinian Arabs in Israel:

  • Are full citizens
  • They have voting rights
  • They can serve in Parliament
  • They can serve in the IDF – the Israeli military

Israel seeks to live in peace with its Arab neighbors.

It’s the Arab neighboring countries that seek domination over Israel.

Myth #4: The Legacy Media is telling us the truth about the Iran war.

It’s the age of relativism.

The Legacy Media shares their opinions as facts  –  their political bias as news.

They are subtly rooting for Iran.[19]

Here are a few of their recent headlines during the first days of the war with Iran:

  • Washington Post: “Iranian school was on U.S. target list, may have been mistaken as military site.” [20]
  • CNN: “Analysis: How the Middle East War could spark a recession.” [21]
  • ABC News: “Pentagon blocks photographers from Hegseth’s briefings on the Iran war.” [22]
  • NBC News: “First 6 days of Iran war cost $11.3 billion, Pentagon tells Congress.” [23]

While these headlines and articles are relevant and probably accurate, they aren’t the main stories of the war with Iran.

They are merely the negative angles of the conflict that the mainstream media outlets want you to see.

They cannot bear to present President Trump and his administration in a positive light …

They report nothing about the success of the Epic Fury operation.

Nothing about the strategic timing or purpose of the operation.

Nothing about the bravery and courage of the American soldiers fighting to secure a nuclear-free Iran for future generations.

The subtle message the legacy media wants you to absorb is that the war has been a grave mistake and an epic failure.

Fact #4: The Legacy Media wants to control what you think about the war.

The legacy media are the spokespeople and the cheerleaders for the Democratic Party  –  the opposition to President Trump.

They hate Donald Trump more than they love anyone or anything else.

Their goal is to weave every story to make you think and feel exactly how they want you to think and feel:

  • About President Trump
  • About America
  • About the radical Left
  • About Iran
  • About the world

They have perfected their storytelling techniques over the years.

The homepages at ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and the rest depict a relentless narrative telling you that

  • everything is bad,
  • chaos rules, and
  • the people running the country are incompetent.

All they want to do is to spotlight the Trump administration’s perceived mistakes, amplify the cost, and elevate every possible narrative about American recklessness and incompetence.

FAQs:

  1. What is the main point of this article?
    A. Mainstream or “legacy” media outlets are biased, present opinion as fact, and promote narratives that are critical of Donald Trump and his policies.
  2. Did Israel influence the U.S. decision to go to war with Iran?
    A. No. The decision was made independently by President Trump and his foreign policy team, not due to pressure from the Israeli government.
  3. Does Israel control U.S. foreign policy?
    A. Absolutely not. No foreign government controls President Trump. Look no further than the Iran cease-fire, the firm stance of U.S. negotiators in the peace talks, the clearing of the Strait of Hormuz of mines – planned during the negotiations, and the blockade of Iranian shipping in the Strait by the U.S. Navy and Marines.
  4. Does Israel seek global domination?
    A. No. Their actions of dropping leaflets on civilian population centers — which Hamas uses as human shields to hide military targets — to pre-announce a bombing mission is not something a country seeking world domination would do. Israel only wants to live in peace and security in their ancient homeland, nothing more.
  5. Is the mainstream media telling the truth about the war in Iran?
    A. No. They are reporting only on selective negative aspects of the war while ignoring the strategic effectiveness and successes of the operation.
  6. What is the desired outcome of biased media reporting?
    A. The goal of the mainstream media is to create a negative public perception about the Trump administration, about all of Trump’s policies and about the war so that voters will vote for Democrats in the upcoming primaries and in the 2028 general election.
