2. The Creation Museum – Petersburg, Kentucky
Venture through biblical history from a creationist perspective, not an evolutionary perspective.
It’s a powerful, well done, step-by-step presentation of the Bible and creation – made fun and interactive.
It’s a 1–2-day trip.
It’s for kids 7 and up — and adults.

The Creation Museum and Ark Encounter are both near Cincinnati International Airport.
3. The Museum of the Bible – Washington D.C.
I’ve been to this special place more than a dozen times.
This museum showcases rare and fascinating artifacts spanning 3,500 years of history… providing an immersive and personalized experience with the Bible and its ongoing impact around the world.
Cutting-edge technology is used to bring the Bible to life… and to show how the Bible and its impact span time, space and cultures.
It’s really an amazing place… they even have professional plays and concerts in their theaters. My wife recently saw a C.S. Lewis play.
It’s located just 3 blocks from the U.S. Capitol.
It’s for kids 4 and up, and adults.
It’s a 1–2-day trip.

4. Dollywood – Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
What a surprise in the middle of one of the most beautiful places in America. It’s for kids 5 and up, with kid rides, teen/adult rides and lots of live music.
It’s a 2–3-day trip.
And it’s very Dolly Parton. And because of this, she will often have Christian music day – which I’ve been to – and a special movie presentation starring Dolly, that is not just Christ-entered, but evangelical. Click HERE for more information.
5. The Met Cloisters – New York, NY
This is a hidden gem. More for adults than children. Maybe kids 16 and up might appreciate it.
It is a museum of European art and history… a lot of incredible, Christian-themed art and artifacts. All these treasures are housed in an old, spectacular monastery.
It’s a 1-day-trip.

6. Victims of Communism Museum
My wife, one of our kids, and I traveled to Washington, DC, to visit the Victims of Communism Museum…
It was an experience we’ll never forget.
The museum opened in 2022, and it’s probably the best presentation on the horrors of communism and socialism I’ve ever seen.
The museum commemorates the more than 100 million people killed by communism around the world and the horror for those still living under totalitarian regimes.
The museum is so big it would take 6 to 8 hours to see everything and get the full history of why communism and socialism is so bad, and why it doesn’t work.
Children from 11 and up should visit the museum, especially high school and college kids.
It’s the best way to understand why communism is so evil, why socialism is so dangerous and why we should never let either one happen in our country.
Victims of Communism Museum and Memorial Foundation is a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C.
Address: 900 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20005

7. SkyPark at Santa’s Village – Skyforest, California
This is not a Biblical experience. But it’s fun!
This is a North Pole-themed outdoor adventure park located in the Lake Arrowhead area of the San Bernardino National Forest in southern California.
Experience the wonders of God’s creation as you enjoy biking, hiking, fishing, archery, ziplining and more… and small children’s rides.
Great for ages 4 and up.
For older children… and adults… rent mountain-trail bicycles – to ride beginner to advanced trails.

This is a working apple orchard and living history farm.
It features:
• Pick-your-own fruit – apple picking
• Living history field trips
• Dinner theater
• Historically-themed overnight stays
• Monthly calendars on the Riley’s Farm website highlight daily activities to aid your planning.
Great for ages 4 and up.

9. Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center – Nashville, Tennessee at Christmastime
Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center does a spectacular Christmas presentation. I recommend spending at least one evening at the hotel so you can see as much as possible.
It is incredibly magical, especially for children. If you have children or grandchildren aged 6-13, they will be absolutely amazed.
There’s plenty to see for adults, including the Christmas Ice attraction. What makes Ice so spectacular are the ice sculptures crafted by artists from China. You actually get to see them make a sculpture.
The Ice attraction features scenes from Frosty the Snowman brought to life through colorful ice sculptures, including a giant Nativity scene. It’s spectacular, powerful and one of the best Nativity scenes I’ve ever seen. Just seeing that alone is well worth the trip.
